Back to School
It's almost time to go back to school and I'll admit it - I'm kind of looking forward to it. Mostly because I'm SO BORED. My job is winding down and I have half of next week and the entire week after off. I'm considering calling up my family physician and asking whether I can shadow her for a day. She does quite a lot of OB so it would be good to see how she balances her practice and ask some questions. I'm afraid that I've forgotten every physical exam skill I've learned along with the names of the cranial nerves and what they do (oo ooo oo to touch and feel....) so maybe i'll embarass myself royally.
The only thing I'm not looking forward to is moving away from Ben, again. I know it's not as far as me being in Canada and him being in Scotland but 3 hours is still far. I know I'll get to see him every weekend but going to bed alone again is going to be difficult. I wish I went to the medical school near his work or that he worked near where I go to school. In good news, several of my classmates are married to spouses who live in other cities and they seem to be keeping it together so maybe after 2 years of dating we can too!
I'm going to go read my bates manual now.

I had to laugh--I am sooooo bored, too! Can't wait to go back, GL this semester! Love your blog...
I think we used "oh oh oh to touch and feel virgin girls vaginas ahh heaven". But I really can't remember what the real names were... it was 3 years ago and I haven't used it since.
I'm not bored. I'm stressed. I don't want to still be in school. I want to sit on my duff for a while and do nothing. No thinking. If you want something to do you can write the section on cervical spine anatomy and injury mechanisms, and spinal cord injury.
we use "oh oh oh to touch and feel virgin girls vaginas and hymens" which when you think about it is a thing doctors or future doctors really shouldn't be saying so there's an alternative "on old olympus towering tops a finn and german viewed some hops - lets see if I can remember them: olefactory, optic, oculomotor, trochlear, trigeminal, abducens, facial, vestibulocochlear, glossopharyngeal, vagus, accessory, hypoglossal. whew.
The finn and german one confuses me because instead of vestibulocochlear it has an 'a'. I'm not sure what the a is supposed to stand for.
Who the heck is going to remember some nonsensical statement about Finns and Germans (though ironically I have the Finn last name and Brian the German). I think the "a" stands for the old name: auditory. But what do I know? I just break necks for a living. I don't have to fix 'em.
absence makes the heart grow fonder! Miss you sex is better too...lol.
I'm ready for classes to start too. Im bored, but I know I will regret feeling bored when Im slammed with med cards and care plans in a week or so.
