Damn Hands

My hands are seriously getting me down. They're like the man. Only they're attached to my body. They're holding me back from my studying potential. I need a robotic right hand. I've never written so much that I'm totally crippled and it's still 2 days until the exam.

Ahhhhhhhhhh 2 days!

P.S.: Random question: how bad are the MCATS really? I almost want to go to Ottawa or McMaster just to avoid them (although their med schools are pretty good anyway, from what I've heard).

Hi Xavier,
The MCATS really are not that bad. If you've taken first year bio, physics, and chem you're 3/4 of the way there and add on organic chem and you've basically got the whole package. I studied in the evenings for a summer and had a 33 something (R or S) and I really didn't study that hard. I just got the kaplan book and learned everything in it. I didn't want to take a course, so I didn't. I personally didn't take organic chem so had to learn that stuff on my own but it was fine.

Ottawa and Mac are good but the number of appliants they get is very high because they don't require the MCAT - so you're looking at an even harder race to get it. I applied to Mac after 3rd year of university, didn't get it, wrote the MCAT and didn't bother applying to Mac again because I didn't think I was the right candidate for them. I didn't apply to Ottawa because I was missing a prerequisite (coming from Engineering it was hard to meet all of the prerecs for all of the schools). And in the end, I got in where I wanted to go and a couple more. I would write the MCAT and keep all my options open if I were you...
