A Poll

Ok, a friend of mine asked me to post this on my blog after her boyfriend did something incredibly stupid. Here's the burning question/scenario:

Scenario:
A guy kisses a girl in the summer (August) and then he goes back to where he's from (a far awayish city) and carries on emailing her 3 times a week from August until January. Girl plans a trip on an airplane to visit guy in January. Guy does not indicate that he is dating another person as of November.

Quesion:
In your opinion, is it reasonable for the girl to expect that the guy is interested in having some sort of romantic encounter when she arrives for her visit?

Let me know what you think, oh public!

If it was only a kiss, and we're talking about young adults, then I'd say it's probably not reasonable.

Unless, of course, he's been laying on compliments and romanticisms in his emails. In which case he's a wanker.

Depends on what he has said in his emails, and the age. It is possible to perceive a situation as being platonic from one point of view, while the other believes the opposite.

If he is dating someone else, then he needs to explain himself as to the situation with the 2nd girl, and ask himself whether he even knows what he wants out of the friendship/relationship.

It depends on what type of e-mails they were - romantic, or just friendly? Still though, I'd be inclined to think that the friend visiting by airplane would be right to expect a relationship with him if he's been writing her three times a week.

OK... so are we talking about the current situation that Liz is in on For Better or For Worse (Canadian Soap Comic Strip)??!!?? I agree on the previous statements about the contents of the emails. If he was hiding it (i.e. didn't even mention it in passing) then he probably had intentions and was trying to pull a fast one on her and in that case he's a wanker or else a chicken who couldn't just come out a tell her which again indicates that there was something more there.

I'm not touching that one. But if I were the girl's brother, I'd probably do more than talk to the lad.

But can I just say that your new profile picture is really disturbing, in an hilarious way?

Hey,
Thanks for the comment on my blog! Your history of medicine professor wrote my textbook, and I've heard her lectures - she's totally awesome. Unfortunately, my history of medicine teacher is nowhere near as good - more like the teacher in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

This'll sound spastic cos it's been said in EVERY comment up there--but it all depends on what he said in his emails. There are clearly flirtatious emails, and there are I-just-wanna-be-friends emails. (I should know. I've written both :P)

And ditto Nathan--WHAT is with the new profile picture?
